The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners held its 24th annual conference in Las Vegas last week, just before the near record temps hit 115 degrees! Over 2,600 attendees heard from nationally recognized speakers and participated in a number of fraud educational breakouts. Who said accountants can have fun!
Allen Dodds Frank, award winning journalist and Forbes alum, kicked things off by receiving the ACFE’s Guardian award for his reporting on white-collar crime and fraud. The ACFE issued a statement saying, “Frank was chosen in recognition of a broadcasting and print career in investigative reporting during which he has specialized in complex fraud cases. He has covered white-collar criminals including Bernard Madoff, Martha Stewart and Tyco’s Dennis Kozlowski, insider trader Raja Rajaratnam and savings and loan kingpin Charles Keating.” More in Forbes here.
