Front-Row View of the Madoff Civil Suit

The trial against Saul Katz and Fred Wilpon, the owners of the New York Mets, will be the first case related to Bernard L. Madoff’s Ponzi scheme that could provide insight into how Mr. Madoff interacted with long-time investors. But this being a civil suit, this case may not provide the closure that a typical criminal prosecution would bring. The trial in the lawsuit filed by Irving H. Picard, the court-appointed trustee representing victims of Bernard L. Madoff’s multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, is scheduled to begin next week. Read New York Times report here.
