Diana Henriques, author of “The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust,” spent almost three years doing research for the book, including two prison interviews with Madoff. The Jewish financier led a Ponzi scheme considered to be the biggest financial deception in U.S. history; in 2009 he was sentenced to 150 years in prison. Henriques continues to cover the unfolding of the bankruptcy process and the criminal cases involved in the Madoff scandal.
