Crooks Onstage (Madoff, et al.) in Washington

Bernard L. Madoff, the reviled mastermind of the Ponzi scheme that appalled the world just as the financial tailspin began, has faded from the front pages, his monstrous crimes overshadowed by the the continuing financial woes that lack easily identifiable (and imprisonable) villains. He will doubtless serve the rest of his life in prison. But here he was onstage, in the form of a fictionalized facsimile, in Deb Margolin’s long-aborning play, “Imagining Madoff,” which ended its run at Theater J here over the weekend.
